By way of introduction, as this is the first of my “What’s Your Play” posts to my blog, WYP is a weekly “event” on the Dolcepics.com blog (check it out, lovely pictures and some great advice). Essentially, the point is to take the “straight out of camera (SOOC) shot and tweak it yourself in your photo editing software of choice – mine is a combination of Lightroom and Photoshop.
My play for this photo was done entirely in Lightroom. The original photo can be seen here. My edits consisted of cropping the photo, slight decrease in the warmth, increased the exposure, recovery, fill light and blacks. I upped the vibrance and saturation and then I also upped the yellow saturation to strengthen the colour of the corn.
I would say that I was torn here – I like the treatment that I have given the image but I experimented with a sepia version as well, which I thought was quite cool. I may post that as well, if I get time before I go on holiday!
PS: I don’t understand why I cannot get my text to align with the top of the image – any suggestions welcome.

Great intro to WYP!
Loving the close crop and how you brought out the colours for certain areas of the photos. The cooler tones work really well here. I'd like to see the sepia version too.
Have a fantastic trip away! We'll miss you and take lots of photos.
